Windsor Charter Academy is excited to welcome David Larkins as the new head coach of our high school boys’ soccer team! Coach Larkins will be hosting open practices at the high school soccer field. Practices will occur on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., between November 3rd through December 19th. Sessions will be focused on helping to advance personal skills for the upcoming soccer season. All student athletes who are interested in playing for the WCA high school boys’ soccer team are encouraged to participate! To sign up for the sessions, please complete this SignUp Genius Form. We look forward to seeing our students there!
The official season begins on March 1st, 2021. Tryouts will begin in February. We are so excited to start our open practice sessions and seeing our athletes back on the field!
Due to restrictions and limitations imposed due to COVID-19, the tryout window will fall within a 3-week pre-season period when the entire team is permitted to practice together. These practices are optional; however, athletes who wish to play at the varsity level are highly encouraged to participate. Each coach will communicate specific dates and times that are within the date and time restraint guidelines. To create an equitable opportunity for overall participation in WCA athletics, the following protocols will be followed:
- Staggered cuts: Three rounds of cuts will occur. Two cuts will occur during the 3-week pre-season period. The varsity roster will be established during the 2nd round of cuts. The third and final cut and team selection for the junior varsity level will occur on the second day of the regular season.
- This year, due to COVID-19, extra roster spots may be added on each team this season.
- Individual meetings with students and coaches will be held to notify athletes as to whether or not they made the team.
Contact Coach Larkins or Ms. Yost if you have any questions.
